Bristol Speed Championship 2024: Round 5

After five rounds of the 2024 Bristol Speed Championship, Matt Parr has taken a storming lead in his Fiesta ST Ecoboost.  His times on both days at Wiscombe in tricky conditions were good enough to score maximum points on both days, despite competing against more powerful 4WD cars.  He is chased by MX5 driver, Phil Oliver, in second place, despite finding the tyres at Gate.  Phil had the car mostly straightened out and new body panels in the post before his final timed run.  Almost more impressive than his times!  In third place is Chris Parr in his MX5, although his DNA is also at the top of the podium, so he’s got to be happy.

Luke Trotman lies in 4th place as the only person to compete in all 5 rounds so far.  Previous championship leader and Caterham driver, Andrew O’Malley, is in 5th place.  With dropped scores now in play (best 4 of 6 rounds), change in the leaderboard is inevitable.  Who will come out on top next month after the Great Western Sprint at Castle Combe Circuit?
