Bristol Motor Club was formed in 1911 and runs cost-effective events for its members. Every year, we run sprints at Castle Combe Circuit and Llandow Circuit, a weekend at Wiscombe Park Hillclimb, AutoSOLOs at Wroughton, the Allen Classic Trial, Roy Fedden Sporting Trial, NavScatters around Bristol and a bunch of social events.
In the past we've had F1 drivers in our membership, but we've mainly focussed on accessibility for everyone. To that end, we fostered the discipline of AutoSOLO in 2002 and started the Vincenzo & Sons Bristol MX5 Challenge in 2014, where you can win a prestigious championship with entry fees from £38. We also realise that competing isn't for everyone and we try to make our events free to spectate as well as helping those who want to be involved as marshals, organisers and officials.
Being over 100 years old, the club is steeped in history, starting new venues at Castle Combe Circuit and Thruxton Aerodrome in the 1950s, taking entries from names such as Moss, Hawthorn and Salvadori. Despite this, we're very much a club of tomorrow, innovating with new ideas and always trying to improve. We listen to our members and help them make the club fill their motorsport needs.
