2026 Bristol MX5 Challenge: Round 2 Results

2026-MX5-R2 2026-MX5-R2

11 drivers were entered into Round 2 of the Bristol MX5 Challenge.  We had first-timers in Joe Hardy and Julia Ashford alongside regulars and returnees like Mike Lear.

Ollie Jenkins was on form all day, taking the win by a massive 4.5 seconds at the end of the day from co-driver Steve Conner.  Jim Bryant completed the podium, also winning Class A for Mk1/Mk2 cars.  Dan Walker missed the podium by 1.1 seconds ahead of a jubilant James Hurford and cone-rash-laden Andy Laurence.

Finn Walker wasn’t far behind and was the highest scoring driver who’s not old enough for a driving licence, followed by fellow junior, Archie Laurence.  Mike Lear was next up, having caught the worst of the weather, with Joe Hardy winning the “I’ve never done this before” award from Julia Ashford.

Steve Conner leads the championship with two second place finishes from Andy Laurence and Dan Walker.  Ollie Jenkins jumps up to fourth place with his win, followed by James Hurford and the Junior battle of Archie Laurence and Finn Walker.  Jim Bryant in 8th is ahead of Dave Greenslade, Paul Sunshine, Mike Lear, David Byrne, Joe Hardy and Julia Ashford.

The next round is less than two weeks away at Wiscombe Park Hillclimb and it’s a double-header.  With entries closed, we are almost certain to see a new championship leader as the top 4 drivers are not entered.  After Wiscombe, we head to Chepstow.  Entries are already open for this round and will likely be full up soon:
