2026 Junior Autosolo Championship: Round 2 Results

Round 2 of the championship was dominated by wind, rain showers and close competition.  After the first test, Archie Laurence led Finn Walker by just 3 tenths, both driving MX5s this season.  Fastest Mini driver was Tom Clemow, followed by Ben Cropper in his Mini.  George had unfortunately retired from the event.  The second and final test saw Finn take the win by 1.7 seconds with a brilliant comeback.  Archie held on to second with Tom and Ben maintaining position in 3rd and 4th.  This leaves Finn and Archie tied at the top of the championship on 45 points with Finn leading on the tiebreak.  Tom is third with George in 4th and Ben in 5th.

In the Generations Cup, Dan Walker beat Andy Laurence to give the win to Dan & Finn from Andy & Archie.  Allegedly, the wind moved the cone as Andy passed it.  And the other cone.  And the one after that.  Luckily, no extra penalties were applied for shattering the cone into a million pieces.  Tom and Simon Clemow finished third with a stonking drive from Simon taking second in class.  Ben and Jason Cropper came home fourth and that’s also how the championship looks at this early point in the season.
