Bristol Junior Autosolo Championship: Half Season Results 2025
It’s been an incredible first half of the season to the inaugural Bristol Junior Autosolo Championship. The first two rounds were dominated by Joe Clemow in his Mini. Round 3 saw a different Mini driver dominating as George Thompson took the win. Round 4 was a ding dong battle between George Thompson and Archie Laurence in his Renault Clio, with Archie taking his first win by a slender two tenths of a second or just 0.04% faster. It’s less than half a Mini car length and they swapped places all day!
The end result of this is that George (83) leads Archie (82) by just one point. Ruben Hutt is in third place in his BMW 120i. He is also leawding the style challenge with some brilliant drifting so far this season. Patrick Osiak has been around the podium all year with a best of 2nd place at Shenington and sits 4th in his Citroen C2. Joe Clemow is in 5th place and is likely to rise up the order once dropped scores come into play. The best 5 scores count towards the championship, so it’s all to play for in the second half of the season.
Finn Walker, Lucas Mees and Aidan Walker have all had late starts to the season, so expect them to build their points tally as the season progresses. We’re also expecting new drivers Tom Clemow and Immy Laurence once they reach the required age. Fingers crossed, that will be age 13 when the updated NCRs are released next week.
Meanwhile, let’s not forget the Generations Cup, where adults and juniors compete with their aggregate time converting to points. Round 1 went to George and Andy Thompson in their Mini followed by Joe and Simon Clemow in their Mini. Archie and Andy Laurence finished 3rd in Mum’s Clio. Round 2 looked similar but Joe and Simon managed to swipe the win from George and Andy. George and Andy were back on top at Shenington for Round 2 and Ruben and David Hutt completed the podium behind Archie and Andy Laurence. Round 4 at Abingdon was a first win for Archie and Andy Laurence, followed by the ever-consistent George and Andy Thompson. Finn and Dan Walker showed real improvement being just a few seconds behind the top two to complete the podium.
