Great Western Sprint in Memory of Chris Bigwood & supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

Bristol Motor Club is pleased to invite competitors to the Great Western Sprint, in memory of Chris Bigwood and supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.

This will be the 17th time that we will run the Great Western Sprint which is one of the longest sprints in the country.
The sprint course will be 1¾ laps of the racing circuit. The start is at the pit lane exit, the finish at Westway on the second lap. Exit from the course is via the pit lane slip road into the paddock.

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

We are Supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance through this Sprint. Air ambulances rely on donations to keep them in operation. This is one of the air ambulances that covers the area that Bristol Motor Club runs events and this includes Castle Combe circuit. The charity will have representatives there in the paddock so you can talk to them about what they do. You can also find information on their website:   https://greatwesternairambulance.com

Competitors are reminded that it is their responsibility to check their car thoroughly and ensure that it is in a fit state to compete and complies with the requirements for the MSUK NCRs.
Please remember that noise emissions for this event are lower than normally allowable for sprints and are limited to 105 dBA, measured at 0.5m at three quarters maximum rpm.
Also be aware that there will be no convoy runs. However, to enable competitors to familiarise themselves with the course layout, they will be given the opportunity of walking or cycling the course prior to practice but must be clear of the course by 08.30 at the latest.

There will be a time display on the return road to the paddock and live timing on the website, but be advised that times shown on these are provisional.

Access to the venue will be allowed on Friday evening, along with camping in the paddock. The gate may be locked with a combination lock later in the evening. Please let us know if you plan to arrive later.
